Oh my goodness, I absolutely adored Lady Clementine and the Tears of Hathor! From the very first page, I was completely captivated by Clementine. She's such a strong, independent woman, navigating the restrictive world of Victorian England with wit, grace, and a surprisingly effective spiked fan. The author, Camilla Taipalvesi, has created a truly compelling heroine—someone who's both fiercely intelligent and capable, yet vulnerable and relatable. I loved how she refused to be confined by societal expectations, pursuing her own path with unwavering determination. Her biracial identity adds another fascinating layer to her character, making her all the more unique and engaging.
The plot itself is a whirlwind of adventure. The blend of historical fiction, fantasy elements, and thrilling treasure hunt kept me completely hooked. The setting is richly described, transporting me seamlessly from the opulent drawing rooms of Victorian England to the dusty, sun-baked landscapes of Egypt.
